Projection Doors is an interactive visualization system for automatic sliding doors, which alters the values of existing commercial architecture and reveals a novel and delighting experience to those passing. Coordinated with the doors’ movements, images projected on the door screen changes according to people’s behaviors; therefore easily turns current static architecture into dynamic ones utilizing existing automatic door systems. Not only is it novel for the pedestrians but it is also for creators, which can contribute to illustrating the city environment through the content development platform of the Projection Doors.

Projection Doors is developed by Keio University Graduate School of Media Design and Nabtesco Corporation. An onsite public experiment is ongoing at RICOH Future House in Ebina-city, Japan.
